I'm super excited about this new year because I get to start over technically and figuratively.
As of today, the 1st, I've learned something new at 4am :D
Imagine that! Me, learning? WHAT A WEIRD CONCEPT!!!!
Initially, I tried to read "Wizard's first rule" but it drove me crazy because I couldn't focus.
So I picked up "How to Draw Anything" by Mark Linley.
These are a few things I learned, that many artists have told me during my artistic journey. I think after the first 3 pages it finally clicked. Hopefully, this year I can put it into practice.
Important points
1. Be confident and bold: take a leap of faith. It's really all about your journey. So get excited! Your work will show your passion in the end.
2. Look and look again.: OBSERVE OBSERVE OBSERVE! [I think that's what Linley meant by this] Go outside and observe. If you don't get outside much, *cough* like me *cough*, then pictures will work, for now. The world is your oyster [I like oysters], it's time for you to explore!
3. Be pleased with your progress. : Keep all your sketchbooks and date each drawing. When you get discouraged, look back at your other drawings. I'm pretty certain, you'll see that you've come a long way.
I'm super psyched!! XD
