I wanted to do something traditional so here's a painting that I did right after the Wine and Design Greensboro Grand opening.

And this is the photo I was looking at:

 

I'm still struggling with capturing color.  

If anyone has any thoughts I would love to take some advice or critiques.

Now that I look at it again. I can't really read the man. ><

So I've been needing to draw more so here's a few from today while I was hanging out with Josiah.

I really enjoyed using the toned paper.  It made it a little bit easier.

I've been painting a bunch and I totally forgot to show them.

Maybe another day but this is one that  I worked on today :D

It was a good stress reliever and I'm excited it came out so well. I still have alot to learn but I'm glad I'm having a bit of fun.

Drawing with Friends

And no I'm not talking about that game.

Recently, a few of my friends and I have been sketching with each other in google+ hangouts.
It's pretty awesome.  I'm not sure if I've gotten better because of it, but I can definitely say it's fun hanging out with my friends putting in those pencil mileage.


Before I show my drawing this week I'll explain sketchathon if anyone in the world want to start their own.

HAZAH and now I shall share.  The random words are also place on the pics, just in case the pics don't communicate what it is.

I'm sad that they're not super polished but it's 10 minutes.  I'll forgive myself this time. :p

Lookie what I made.  This is a variation of a poster that I made for work because they were hosting a lion dance.

I'm really excited about it :D

By the way: YES I MADE IT. 

Painted it and arranged the typography in photoshop.

I was really inspired by an animation friend of mine, Kitty Fung, that also created a Chinese new year.

I'm nowhere near as good as her, but I'm catching up to her slowly.
