Recently, I've been trying to get my really good friend Nelson Ricardo to mentor me with painting. Mostly because I thought traditional painting was awesome but he pulled out the real reason why I wanted to do it. I really want to get back into lighting. I miss it and I truly enjoyed doing it, even though I had no clue what I was doing.
This was my first assignment. I had a limited palette to use:
- 20% grey
- 40% grey
- 60% grey
- 80% grey
- Black
- White
This is the reference he gave me. You're welcome to try it for yourself!!
And this is my apple. Mind you, I had a limited time frame, so I can focus on just the tones to understand the light.
Hopefully, I'll be drawing more but I won't make any promises
